Neal,

Project Line to Surface command will permit you to snap to the Proposed EP and then project at a specified grade to the OG. This can assist in determining the drive limit without having to profile each drive separately.

As far as the CDR issue, I would need to see what is going on in order to de-bug the problem.

The parent/child relationship does not utilize component display rules. Denis is correct that attempting to use CDR with EC can cause some unpredictable results. I have a sample data set that generate drives that I can supply on request. I think I used the Right of Way line as an additional control for the drive limit.

Marc is correct. A single station that contains different points and components will not display correctly. There needs to be at least two drops in order to properly display a component in a cross section.

One suggestion is to draw a line across the drive openings. Import those lines as horizontal alignment targets. They can be a single discontinuous alignment. Example (Drives Left or Drives Right) Then have the template perform a test where the target is alignment. This can be a do not construct End condition located some where above the template. This will not affect the model. The driveway component(s) would be a child of the EC so it would only display if the EC evaluates to true. Then you can import the same graphic driveways as Event points for the mainline (controlling) alignment. Use the Event points option in the Roadway Designer so you autmatically get a processed station at the start and end of drive openings.

Good luck and let us know if you run into any problems.

I would set the driveway template over a range of stations to allow the components and triangles to form properly.
