Hey i had an user to try a clean install and it solved the issue

These are the standard steps to do a clean install

Please try to uninstall ORD (from Apps and Features)

Make sure the below folders are deleted before trying to reinstall:

C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenRoads Designer CE 10.11

C:\Users\YOUR USER\AppData\Local\Bentley\OpenRoadsDesigner (If you have any User preferences that want to keep, please make sure to do a backup of these folders)

Please also go to the Registry Editor and delete these folders:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Bentley\OpenRoadsDesigner

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bentley\OpenRoadsDesigner

Reboot the system

Then try to reinstall ORD with Administrator's rights (right click >Run as Administrator)

This worked for me too. The folder structure has slightly changed so I had to add in an additional change directory command

cd \
cd program files
cd bentley
cd openroads designer connect edition
cd openroadsdesigner

cd OpenRoads Designer CE 10.10
openroadsdesigner /regserver

Additionally, you can also just type in: cd C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenRoads Designer CE 10.10\OpenRoadsDesigner and skip a bunch of steps (your directory might be slightly different depending on the version you have)

I typed "Command" into the windows search bar in the lower left corner. I then right clicked on Command Prompt and clicked Run As Administrator. I entered the admin username and password. In the command window that came up, I then typed in:
cd \
cd program files
cd bentley
cd openroads designer connect edition
cd openroadsdesigner
openroadsdesigner /regserver

can you elaborate how did you resolved the issue? did you used "run" or cmd ? if cmd then what exactly i need to type in or copy. kindly explain.

I had a user with this same problem. I opened a command prompt with admin privileges, and then navigated to C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition\OpenRoadsDesigner . The typed in openroadsdesigner /regserver . That seems to have fixed it. Next time the user ran OpenRoads Designer, it worked without getting the error message.

Hi Taylor,

You mention that this message is returned when first opening a project file, with a subsequent launch of the same file, do you receive this message? Have you tried to repair the installation or reinstall?
