I've got a dgn file with lines and information (items like Invert in / Invert out / Diameter). This represents a drainage structure. I want to use the Model builder to convert this file to a 3D drainage model (depths, diameter, etc).
However, if I try to open this file in the Model Builder I get the message:
Loading Library: 'C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition\OpenRoadsDesigner\Subsurface\Haestad.DgnDb.dll' failed.
What am I doing wrong?
A while back I was trying to do something similar with a DGN file and I encountered the same error. I believe this is a bug in the software, not anything wrong on your end.
Hi Louis,
To build a 3D utility model from DGN graphics, you need to use the "create utility from Graphics" import tool, not model builder. The DGN option in Model builder is available only in plain StormCAD/SewerCAD/SewerGEMS.

Could we please file an enhancement request to remove that from the interface then. It is becoming very tiresome to have a product that either does not have the functionality from the products it replaces, or replacement tools that work in an inferior manner. Now we are also being presented with interface components for tools that aren't included.

Hi Vincent,
How can we automatically define the heights from the inlet-in and inlet-out when using the "Create utility from graphics"? The source drainage design is very big. It would be very cumbersome to define the heights manually...
I solved it by using the original Shape file (also some troubles but at least it worked).
Regards Louis
Creating utility from graphics is described in this course it has capabilities to take elevation from 3D graphics, DZ from surface, ...
Happy to hear that SHP worked.
