OPENROADS workset relocation

is there a way to move the work set folder into a different directory? I tried to just physically cut and paste into another folder but this message comes up. is there a way to change this path to read the new location?

  • When creating a new WorkSet, specify the folder you want it to be in - it can be put anywhere.

    If you already have a WorkSet, and you have just physically moved it, the configuration file will not find it (as you have found). If you edit the WorkSet configuration file, you will see a line at the bottom that defines '_USTN_WORKSETROOT' - you should amend this to point to the new folder.

    In this example, I have a WorkSet called 'Mark', which I moved to 'C:\Bentley Training Roads' from the default 'ProgramData\. .  .' folder - I edited the 'Mark.cfg' file to set the variable below as shown (note that the cfg file does say on line 23 'Changes below this line are not necessary or recommended.' - don't amend anything else.)

    _USTN_WORKSETROOT = C:/Bentley Training Roads/$(_USTN_WORKSETNAME)/

  • whenever I try to change the folder location, below, when creating a new workset the program crashes. the only way it been working is by using the default setting as shown. I tried to manual type in the path but it just goes back to the default location

  • You have to use the Template dropdown to create the workset.  FDOT's template workset is called 0_WORKSET_TEMPLATE   If you don't see that you may need to reinstall FDOTConnect and follow their instructions for installing ORD.   Our testing has indicated the same Workset directory used during the installation is were FDOTConnect looks for all its worksets.  There was no getting around this.  FDOTConnect sets an Environment Variable on the workstation to define FDOT_WORKSETS.  As I mentioned below, you can work in your project DGNs and typical FDOT project folders using the _USTN_WORKSETDGNS variable.  You will also need to contact your FDOT Project Manager or the Central Cadd office to get the project properties loaded for the workset.  This will allow the sheets to populate data fields correctly.
