is there a way to move the work set folder into a different directory? I tried to just physically cut and paste into another folder but this message comes up. is there a way to change this path to read the new location?
Our ORD is setup to offer the delivered workspace on the users C: Drive and they can create more workspaces and worksets there, while experimenting or training.
These appear under Example Configuration. Our network workspace is on our S: Drive and appears under Custom Configuration, using the variable _USTN_CUSTOM_CONFIGURATION.

So you are locked to the one location for your ORD workset. We have project files located under our company job folders and we want a workset for each job folder. Maybe I'm over looking the something, I just don't see a way to open the workset after it's been moved to the job folder. thx you
Are you not locked to one location for your PCF files in recent SelectSeries editions? Do they not point to where your project on your company job folder resides? Connect can work in a similar fashion. When Connect asks for "Worksets" it's not looking for your project directory, but the configuration and standards for that project and all other Connect project worksets.

Unfortunately, we are in a very preliminary stages of our ORD implementation. I have done many intricate things with CFG files in prior versions and from the looks of things, ORD will allow similar, if not more. However, they have made many changes to how these CFG files work and are used compared to earlier versions. I have not had sufficient time to get anywhere near as familiar with these new files.
Are you familiar with the -debug command line switch? it creates a text file that reports, file by file and line by line what happens when the product loads as it reads each CFG file.
Studying these will allow you to get really deep into what is occurring and should show you places where you can redirect the process to alternative locations.
Some of the DOT web pages have PPT's, PDF's and sometime even videos where their technical people explain how their workspace is setup. At this time, we only have information for our V8i workspace and we keep it very light: "Set this or that variable so it points to a local copy of our workspace and everything should be good to go."
