Hello everyone. I am learning to use ORD (specifically, OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition version 10.07.03.18), and I am experiencing an issue with scaling when referencing in a file.
I am attempting to reference in a file which includes contour lines. When I reference it in, the contour labels DO NOT scale according to the drawing scale of the file into which it is referenced. All other references scale correctly (including other annotation text in the file with the contour labels). If I open the file with the contour labels in it and adjust the drawing scale there, the contour labels DO change according to the drawing scale.
The issue I am having appears to be the same as the issue experienced by this individual (to which no solution was provided):

If anyone could help me with this, I would appreciate it!
Strange question that may not apply...For the reference setting, do you have "Use Annotation Scale" turned ON or OFF?

Hi MaryB. In my "References" menu, I have the option "Use Active Annotation Scale". When I switch this on/off for other references, the scales of the annotations DO change. However, when I do this for the reference with the contour labels, the contour labels DO NOT change.
Strange...
Have you tried selecting the referenced terrain and setting the Properties dialog "Override Symbology" to Yes? This will allow you to go into the dropdown from the top hierarchy level of the Contours>Major/Minor and set the desired text spacing, style information within that file you're referencing to. The "Text Style" selected will contain the scaling setting.

Hi Shawn. I selected a contour line and set "Override Symbology" to "Yes" under the "Properties" menu. This caused all the labels to disappear. I am not sure where to find the "Contours" > "Major/Minor" menu. I looked through the various WorkFlows and tabs, but didn't see anything that looks like that. Could you please advise?
EDIT: I think I figured out what you meant. 1. In the "Properties" menu for the contours, change "Override Symbology" for the contours to "Yes".
2. In the "Properties" menu, expand the folders in the top box until you find "Major Contours" and "Minor Contours".
3. Select which of these you want to manipulate, and then change the settings in the menu below.
I selected "Major Contours", and saw that the "Color" was set to "ByLevel (11)", which seems correct. I decided to change the color, and the contour labels reappeared at the CORRECT scale. I then changed the color back to "ByLevel (11)" and the contour labels DID NOT disappear. So it appears that this fixed the problem.
This raises the question, though, of why they did not disappear again when I changed their color back to the original color. I have had issues similar to this multiple times since I have begun learning to use OpenRoads Designer (i.e. things not appearing correctly, but then the problem getting fixed when I cycle some setting to another value, then back to what I had it originally set for.) Is anyone else experiencing things like this with OpenRoads Designer? We have really only just begun using this software at my office, but from what little I have heard, it sounds like it is still relatively new, with some bugs in it.
