Hello everyone. I am learning to use ORD (specifically, OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition version 10.07.03.18), and I am experiencing an issue with scaling when referencing in a file.
I am attempting to reference in a file which includes contour lines. When I reference it in, the contour labels DO NOT scale according to the drawing scale of the file into which it is referenced. All other references scale correctly (including other annotation text in the file with the contour labels). If I open the file with the contour labels in it and adjust the drawing scale there, the contour labels DO change according to the drawing scale.
The issue I am having appears to be the same as the issue experienced by this individual (to which no solution was provided):

If anyone could help me with this, I would appreciate it!
Hello,
We were having this same issue. Additionally, we were also having the same issues as you had with the solutions provided.
We found that if you change the annotation scale original file (with the contours actually in it) then it should appear at that scale when referenced in. No need to change symbology. Simply go to the Drawing Workflow> Utilities>Drawing Scale
This changed all the text of the contour labels to the scale we wanted. It referenced in just fine.
Unfortunately, this solution may mess up other files you have this referenced in at different scales.
Hi Joseph, The likely reason setting the drawing scale to 1=1 worked for you is due to the hard coded height/width in the TextStyles used within the Element Template's contour settings. Unless the TextStyles were modified or hard coded to a specific size value and not a height/width scale factor (this depends on the client standards and Workspace) the text should scale and adapt to the sheet/drawings they're referenced to, regardless of the scale of those sheets/drawings. For illustration, all images below are from Bentley's Training and Examples workspace. The last image, I've included FDOT's guidelines for their text scale factors based on the target standard text size (e.g. FDOT Small, FDOT Large, etc). - I believe most DOTs have done similar to follow Bentley's new Named Boundaries sheet scaling. Some exceptions as always! Hope this helps!
