Hej
I need to annotate terrain model elevations in plan on a grid 5x5m.
In this case I have huge 360000 sqm site project. For the earthworks Delta Terrain Model was prepared showing depth of cuts and heights of embankments. Now I need to exhibit these as spot elevations on a grid 5x5m. Easy to be done in SS2/SS4 or Civil3D. Have no idea how to acomplish this in ORD. I would really prefer to avoid using SS2 for annotations and ORD for modelling.
Thanks for any tips.
Adam
Im wondering if there is something that can be done with Annotation Groups, Like having Grid coordinates display on drawings. I will have a play and see how i get on.
Regards
Chris

I tried to us Grid Annotation with Point Elevation Text Favorite - no success. I will appreciate if you could play and than let us know here.
Also, this GRID annotation seems to work only for Civil Plan named boundaries created along centerline. Am I right?

Thanks Mark. Will work as a workaround. I wonder why the Plan Annotation Grid will not work when Text Favourite changed to Point Elevation - looks it is hard-coded to return NE coordinates. However what you proposed gives better control over where to start the grid.
Hi Mark, I am following your quide to create a points grid with assigned elevations. The problem I have points have been created by array have same elevation as the original points which was created on active terrain.
The task I aim is to create a set of points on huge terrain in array 10m x 10m , then I want to place a few points manually to specify some characteristic locations. Then I want to assign to each point elevations from 2 different terrain models, so finally I will have two elevations for each point showing design (design terrain) and as-built elevation (as-built terrain)
Finally I want to compile a drawing showing design elevation and as built elevation.
Could you advise please.

pj.
PJ - you cannot have one point with 2 elevations. Follow the steps and create 2 sets of points that will have the same XY with different Z values - one from existing terrain, one from proposed terrain. You can add the manual points to the text file as required.
Thank you Mark, helped me a lot. have a good day !
I copied xms file to Reports folder, but Openroads doesn't display it when I create a new Analyse Elevation report. Can you advise?
What is XMS file? This is a completely different topic, so you should start a new thread.
I found it, sorry, that folder was added on the bottom line.
