Hi all,
Does anyone know how to enable (if possible) Task Navigation in ORD 2020 R1 like in Microstation CE Update 13?
I'm not expecting any of the Civil tools to be available there, but hoping to use the CAD Tasks interface
Regards,
Mark
Hey Mark S. This notion appeals to me because I find myself backtracking too much in the ribbon, even after customizing the ribbon to make sure that common tools are always in view.
I have tried to get this going, got partway, but ultimately failed. I wonder if ORD is either one or two versions behind the MS version or has omitted part of the interface items included in MS.
I have ORD tasks created, which is pretty easy simply by creating an additional dgnlib. Start by migrate one forward from SS10.
Using Mark M's information and a little detective work I was able to get "Task Navigation" to show up in ORD workflow by copy MstnRibbon.rsc from my MS install to the ORD install.
But I cannot figure out how to get the 2nd part to work where you choose the V8i task nav theme.
End result, I have all the tasks but they are structured like toolboxes rather than task navigation.
If I can find some time, I'll have another go at it.

You can use this keyin:
mdl load Bentley.TaskNavigation.dll;tasktoolbox open -TEST
However, this will not let you use the position mapping hotkeys as they are still mapped to the ribbon. I have not found a way around this.
PS:
Bentley, don't remove this keyin :-)

Don't count on it sticking around. In our discussions with Bentley we have been told that ORD does not, and will not, support tasks. Confirmed in a meeting just this morning. They may not be aware of your workaround (until today).
Far out, at least give us what we have in Vanilla Microstation. Surely would be easier to implement whatever Microstation has by default instead of taking it away.
I'm not expecting them to make Civil Tasks...

Yeah, we have not fully implemented ORD just yet as I am attempting to "perfect" it for our office, but why take away what users are familiar with or at least give them the option of using it? I have the feeling that our users are going to flip when we roll this software out for production...
