How to use multiple annotation groups for horizontal and vertical annotations?

Question

From what I can tell, plan and profile annotation groups are set in the base geometry file's feature symbology settings. My problem is, I have other exhibits that use the same alignment but I want to use a different annotation group for the plan and profile. Is there a way to use a different annotation group in an exhibit file when referencing in my base geometry file?

One of the many features of ORD is that different WorkSpaces and WorkSets with their different Feature Definitions and Feature Symbologies is that the same alignment can be displayed many different ways. 
 1. The drawing (1) is created in WorkSpace A and WorkSet B. The Feature Definitions and Feature Symbologies are modified to Annotate correctly. 
 2. Drawing (2) is created in WorkSpace A and WorkSet C and drawing (1) is referenced into it. The Feature Definitions and Feature Symbologies for WorkSet C are modified to Annotate drawing (1) alternately. 
 3. This is one of the advantages of each WorkSet having the ability to over ride the Feature Definitions and Feature Symbologies and annotation of any other.
