What is the difference between power inroads SS4 vs Inroads suite SS4 in regards to storm and sanitary design? I have used the inroads suite in the past for drainage design. However, my new job they use power inroads for roadway design and I could not find the application button within Microstation to launch inroads. Can I use power inroads for drainage design?
Yes, you can use Power InRoads for drainage design because Power InRoads and InRoads Suite have the same functionalities. The biggest difference between them is Power InRoads is not a layered application like InRoads, so MicroStation is not needed to run because the MicroStation environment is built into it. Look for Power InRoads on your computer, and the try launching it like you would MicroStation.

When you first open Power In Roads, a dialog box appears to "Open" a drawing. On the lower right corner of this dialog box you'll see "User". It is probably defaulted to "MicroStation". Change that to InRoads and open your drawing. You will now see the menus for Power InRoads.
If you don't see it in my first suggestion you have go to the Utilities Pulldown and pick the MDL Applications. In the dialog box under Available Applications pick CIVTOOLS.ma and Load it. Good luck.
