I created a terrain and set the level in the general portion to 40, and for major, minor contours as something different, but when I hover over the contours, it says level 40, not the levels I set for the contours. Is this the expected behavior?

I'm talking straight out of the box installation. Loaded an InRoads .dtm and it showed the triangles. Clicked on the border, went to the property panel on the left, turned off triangles, turned on major and minor contours. At this point if you hover over the contours, it says they are on level default. Went to the "General" section and changed the level to "40" from "default". Now when you hover over the border or the contours, it says level 40. Then I go to "calculated features>contours>major contours" and I can change level, color, style weight. If I change any of the display attributes, the display updates immediately, but when I change the level from default (it says default, but when I hover over the contours it says 40) to something else, it still says 40, not the level I set.
David, when you hover over the contours, you are actually hovering over the terrain model as it is displayed by the feature definition (or overrides). The object in question is thus the terrain model, which is on level 40. The settings for the "internal" features like contours allow us to use level management as we have in the past, but don't have a corresponding MicroStation element if that makes sense, they are just setting the visualization of the terrain model, the object.
