Has anyone received the above error message while working in Microstation/Geopak. It occurs a lot when working with several aerials (from local area to 20 mile corridor study) (.sid files or .hmrs) or as I as have been informed having several other files open i.e. excel, a pdf or two, email, Internet Explorer or Chrome, file explorer to name a few. Working in Windows 10 and have had IT permit Microstation to access as much memory as it needs.
I began having these issues last year. We have tried a second new laptop ( 1 TB Drive, 64 gig of memory)
I understand Microstation is a 32-bit program but 64-bit is available but going to 64-bit (if it correct the problem) is not an option at this time.
Thank you
Mike
Hi Mike,
Try checking out the link below, and see if it pertains to you.

If it does, you should be able to add a config variable named MS_MEMORY_FREELIMIT, and then you can set a physical and virtual limit, respectively. You can use the following as an example: 100,999. You might need to close out of the program and reopen it for the changes to take affect, but hopefully this helps!

Jacob

Hi Jacob,
Adding the MS_MEMORY_FREELIMIT to the config file worked for about a couple of days. However I begun to experience the crashes
again at least twice a day. It would appear the only logical step would be to go to 64-bit Microstation but since one of my clients is a DOT they will have to make that call. Unless you know of something else to try.
Thanks for the help
