Is there a tool or workflow to turn hand modified cross sections into a surface, mesh or solid shape in OpenRoads?
Hi Ariel, I'm not aware of any tool doing it automatically in OpenRoads. What sort of modification do you want to make?
I could think of a few - mostly having to do with end conditions and tie-ins. Sometimes it is going to be more expedient to just edit the section than it is to go back into the model and try to figure out the logic for what you are trying to do. Smaller projects may not always have the budget for extensive corridor modeling, which would necessitate some hand work

If you need to edit the end conditions, there is the end condition exception tool for this, see this wiki: https://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/w/road_and_site_design__wiki/17922/video-applying-end-condition-exceptions
Marc, this post like several others on this forum are about 'hand-editing' the cross sections, and this topic will take a long time to go away. There are just too many users that want to / need to edit the cross sections directly. Not by modifying the model. Bottom line - 100% model-based sections are a problem at times. And that goes for Cross Section Annotation too. I'm an InRoads guy and the display / editing / annotation of InRoads Cross Sections was fantastic!! Powerful in so many ways. You could use the power or not ... it was your choice. ORD is a tough pill to swallow in some instances ... and Cross Sections are one of them.

Will OR have any allowance for hand-editing cross sections?
Editing Cross Sections in ORD
Listen, I've been preaching modeling perfection since 1989 with InRoads and push users to strive for all graphics to be model-driven. But there are times, when push comes to shove, that a user needs to be able to do what he needs to do. ORD doesn't allow that ...and that's a problem.
Hi Mark, I know and understand the importance of hand-editing cross sections, however this topic is on SS4 and as you're aware, legacy products are not developed anymore. I don't see what we can do about it now apart from suggesting workarounds when we can.
Concerning hand-editing XS with ORD, there is this topic and the suggestion I made seems to be enough: https://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/f/geopak-inroads-mx-openroads-forum/192868/using-openroads-designer-for-production
It may also work with SS4, by referencing the model containing the XS and using a 'Clip Mask' you can make some drawing edtion but it won't update the 3d model.
