Hi,
Is there a time frame for adding this functionality to ORD?
Regards,Krzysztof
Thanks Mark. Paul gives a 3-4 minute overview of the sort of thing I was expecting from about the 29 min. mark. It is brief and I really think a step by step walk through posted somewhere on the LearnServer and/or Communities with an appropriately searchable title would be a big help to users.
That said after some trial and error I have got it to work with a merged design terrain of the top surface of both the corridor and side road - not sure if that's a prerequisite or not, but it worked.
As an aside, at the same time I posted in July after seeing Ja'shon's post, I put in a service request (SR7001102686) asking for the development of junction visibility tools to be a high priority. I received a response from Bentley's Simon Pegg confirming "the junction visibility tool being missing" and that "this enhancement... is already in,,, as the highest priority." What is strange is that Paul's video was done more than 2 years prior to the posting. Seems to me that users are going to have a hard time learning the features of ORD if Bentley support staff aren't on top of it... makes me wonder what else may have slipped through the gaps. So please something comprehensive (and findable) on junction visibility checks being added to a LearnServer course or in the community resources would be a big help.
The ANZ Special Interest Group had an item on this topic back in 2018, I am afraid I do not know the exact one (EDIT - see below) - the web site for all the recordings is https://learn.bentley.com/app/Public/ViewLearningPathWithMasterCourseExpanded?lpId=112219&mcId=102830
Driving on the left, I select the main alignment for my eye position but the stub alignment on the side road (orange box) as my target as I approach the junction from the east. Use the stub for the eye position and the main alignment for the target as you drive away from the junction. I have the design surface and the existing ground. The image below show yellow arrow is junction position in profile. Green sight visibility lines to the west shows I can be seen from junction - but not to the east (red)
The specific link to the recoding is https://learn.bentley.com/app/VideoPlayer/LinkToIndividualCourse?LearningPathID=112219&CourseId=124384&MediaID=5015963
Hello Bentley. Any update on this enhancement request after 9 months? With the retirement of MX this is becoming more critical as constructing manual checks is time consuming.
Ja'Shon thanks for the update. I'm really hoping Bentley are making this enhancement a high priority as I'm now having to export my ORD design back to MX to do intersection sight distance checks - something I need to be able to do & document for internal QA and client deliverable.
There is an enhancement filed for this issue to be implemented in a future release.
