We are using linking codes with our survey but can't figure out how to close a shape. The issue is the starting point is also the last point in the second arc. Is there a way to assign two linking codes to a point? Or is there a way to close this shape?
In the Linking Codes dialog, you can specify the code to use to close the shape. (Survey Settings > Settings)
When I use CloseShape it looks like this instead of finishing the arc.
I am no surveyor - what happens if you use Close?
Then it just created a straight line back to the starting point
CloseShape
closes the ends of the linear feature by adding right angle at both ends and intersecting
Close
closes the Linear Feature back to the first point
Just saw this site.

If I find anything more, I will post further.
When shooting a figure that closes on itself, the last segment will always draw a line using the Close command. The Close Shape command tries to make a 90 degree closing of a shape, so it is not the tool to use.
The first shot should be coded as a SC and should be taken at the PC of one of the two arcs, so that the shot at the PT of the second arc can use the Close command to draw a straight line to the starting point.
To fix this figure, convert it to a point list, then use the manage point list tool. In it, you can take the first point and move it down until it is the last point and assign it the PT code and remove the PT code if it is assigned to the point that used to be the last point.
