Good day,
Is there a way to export and import annotation groups ? Similar to features and symbologies.
Hi Thokozane,
Yes, you can export and import annotation groups into landxml file. For this, from Project Explorer > OpenRoads Standards > Annotation Group> Select the annotation group right click and select "Manage". In the Manage Annotation dialog box you will find the options Import & Export. Please find attached the screen shot for you reference.

Amita,
I understand that the process you describe above exports the Annotation Definitions associated with a specific Annotation Group and that you then need to manually create an Annotation Group with the same name in the new file and import the Annotation Definitions. This takes some time if you have a lot of Annotation Groups.
Please can you let me know if Bentley would be able to create a facility that would enable all the Annotation Groups and Annotation Definitions to exported into an XML file in one go.

Keith
An alternative workflow is to copy and paste annotation groups from a configured dgnlib to the active file. This method supports multiple selection and is a useful way to quickly establish multiple annotation groups in a new file.
Paul,
thanks for the reply. That's good to know.
Hello Amita,
I'm trying to combine 3 annotation groups for cross sections. I export the 3 groups, then create a new group. when I import the .xml files it create copies of all the Annotation Definitions. is there any way to prevent this? The list becomes huge with double or triple entries as I try to combine them.
if you try to Add an existing Annotation definition to a group you have to expand the folders to select them and then it only lets you add one at a time. This is a really painful way to build a new group with many selections. IS there any way to select multiple definitions to add to a group? or to prevent the creation of multiple definitions with a 1, 2 ,3... at the end?

Thanks,
Eric
