Hi,
While working on Geopak software it gets crashed again and again. It gets crashed mostly while creating network, creating profile and updating profile or pipe invert. Due to these crashes I am not able to work properly. Can you please suggest something to overcome this crash issues of Geopak?
Secondly it takes around 30-40 minutes to create profiles of pipe networ, Is it normal time?
Thanks,
regards,
Vineet
Hi Vineet
Which version are you running?
I found that most of my crashes in Geopak were due to running out of memory. Being a 32-bit application, there is a lower limit to how much memory can be addressed (just over 2GB after Windows has taken its share). I would suggest opening the Task Manager and monitoring the memory used by Geopak - if it crashes after the memory used by the application is somewhere over 2000MB, you might have to scale your terrain/ TIN down by clipping it.
30-40 minutes is quite long. Are your files stored locally or on a file server?
Kind Regards
Hi Vineet,
After you crash in GEOPAK always open task manager and verify that GEOPAK is not still running in the background. Sounds a little crazy but the executable is often still running after a crash. Do an 'end task' on anything GEOPAK after your crash and you should be fine. If you do not end task on these you may end up with several GEOPAK executables running in the background that will make you crash even faster.
Good luck,
Patrick
