Hi
I have problem with auto upgrade files from SS4.
I set CIVIL_UPGRADE_PROMPT_OFF =1, but old files (SS4) are always READ-ONLY. I have ORD 2020 R2.
In my company we have also ORD 2020 R1 where all works fine.
What all have you tried so far to troubleshoot your issue? Have you tried leaving the CIVIL_UPGRADE_PROMPT_OFF variable undefined as a test to see what happens? Is the CIVIL_OPEN_OLD_READONLY variable defined?
Regards,
Jacob

I tried:
- define CIVIL_UPGRADE_PROMPT_OFF in Organization Standards
- define CIVIL_UPGRADE_PROMPT_OFF in WORKSPACE
- define CIVIL_UPGRADE_PROMPT_OFF in WORKSETS
- define CIVIL_UPGRADE_PROMPT_OFF in personal.UFC
- define CIVIL_UPGRADE_PROMPT_OFF with another value
CIVIL_OPEN_OLD_READONLY is undefined.
When CIVIL_UPGRADE_PROMPT_OFF is undefined I have message:

I also tried several combinations of these config variables but civil SS4 files always open as read-only. Perhaps this is an objects schema issue between SS4 and ORD 2020 R2 which doesn't allow for editing. I submitted a service request to Bentley.
I tested this in the following manner:
1. Create a new file in SS10 (or SS4)
2. Add a civil line using the horizontal geometry tools.
3. Now try and load this file in ORD 2020 R2 ( make sure to set CIVIL_UPGRADE_PROMPT_OFF = 1 )
Here is the suggested solution from Bentley Support:
SS4/SS10 files will not automatically upgrade the civil data to the ORD schema. We provide a version checker tool that can upgrade SS4/SS10 files to ORD.
The executable is found where you have installed the software and is called VersionChecker.exe
C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition\OpenRoadsDesigner\VersionChecker.exe
You can watch the following video on how to use the version checker but you simply run the executable and then use the File menu to open the file or folder to upgrade. Then select the View and select Upgrade List and then select Action and Upgrade All. The program will try to upgrade the files to the current version.

Once you upgrade the version checker will tell you the schema version and product version on the Schema Details tab.
GRRRR....so has anyone found a solution to this problem in 10.09? where version checker no longer exists.
