I've imported a .alg file or .xml into ConceptStation from the geometry from OpenRoads Designer or previous versions, when placed, everything looks perfect, horizontal and vertical.
When designing a ramp connection, the vertical alignment seems so off at other given point, even though the alignments have the same elevation and mostly intersecting (please see attached images).
The problem is not where the ramp is connected as the software creates the intersection and everything, but the rest of the road loses the vertical profile to something way off.
Any thoughts on this problem?
Would you send me your files? I will see if I can reproduce the issue and see if I can figure out a way to fix it. You can use the link below to get your files to me.

Jacob,
Just uploaded for you, please take a look, the software should at least lock the horizontal and vertical alignment, even if that'd result in the creation of a new PI or something.
If it is some limitation (for now or forever), I'd like some workflow, maybe new enhancements (like table input values of the alignment).
I'll look forward to your answer.
Kim
Maybe I misunderstood, but it seems like I observed something different than you. When I imported the .alg file into ORD, the alignments looked good. This was not the case when I tried it in ConceptStation. The horizontal always imported correctly but the vertical did not. When I placed Ramp Connections on the roads that imported correctly, everything seemed to work fine. Only the necessary parts of the vertical alignment changed. When I tried on the roads that didn't import correctly, the results didn't look good, but they weren't necessarily incorrect based on the messed up alignments. Did you observe any of this?
I could replicate that issue a number of times. By changing the template when importing in ConceptStation, the alg file seems correct, but sometimes the vertical alignment comes off (partially). In Designer, the alg file is correctly imported. Can't be sure of why this happens and why only sometimes.
The issue about placing the ramp connection is that the vertical messes up, I can't say if it's because of the radius entrance, velocity parameters, but the vertical alignment doesn't maintain the values (K factor and horizontal distance), I was wondering if there's a way to constraint or lock those.
I believe the only things you can control for ramp connections is the whether or not it is Parallel or Tapered and the value of the design radius. I can make an enhancement request for additional constraints, if you'd like.
Yes, please, if possible, insert values from Excel tables would be great as well (PI elevation, K-factor, horizontal length) together with constraints.
This would help even if values from the Vertical alignment changes, would be easy and accurate to adjust.
I created the enhancement request for you, and its log information can be found below.
