The last two times I've tried to define a point by northing easting, I tentative snap to a point but the point returned is a few feet (up to a 100 or so feet) away at what appears to be a random location. The random location is the same every time i snap to the point I'm trying to define. The first time this occurred, I was trying to create cogo points. Using define by station/offset worked, so I was able to create the points. A day later, I'm trying to Edit Horizontal Alignment and the same thing happens when using define by N/E - I tentative snap to point but what inroads returns is not the correct location.
I'm using Inroads V8i SS2
Any ideas what my issue is?
Thanks, Mark, for remembering the one! I was away from my computer and could not even run through a few options.
Mark
Thank you, thank you! I must have accidentally changed this setting as this was the issue.
Didn't know about this lock, and don't really understand what it does, but I know now to keep it set to No Snap.
Make sure the Snap Lock is toggled to No Snap... not Point Snap or Element Snap.
Ahhh...
I had this happen many years back in exactly the manner you have described, but for the life of me I forgot what was going on or how it was resolved. It has been a while since I used SS2, but have you checked your InRoads locks? The only other thing I can think of is the "get out of the drawing and reboot" scenario.
Hi Mark - Both these instances occurred in two different dgns and both 2D models. Top View is not applicable in 2D models, correct?
