Has anyone managed to get the MXinput.exe that is compatible with MX SS4?
The tool is used for running parts of the input codes.
MXInput.exe no longer works with SS4 nor SS3. The benelux tool works (bnlxinprunonce.exe). You need to install the MXTools 08.11.09.845.
If you don't need any of the ORD technology stay with SS2.
Hi Valeriu,
Thanks for your quick reply. For some reason I couldn't find benelux tool in the SS4 package (Version 08.11.09.879), is there any other ways to get it?
You need to download "MX Tools" from Bentley's website, you need select subscription to download it. MXTools is a different thing from MX SS4, a different installer, it is something like "mxt081109845en.exe".
But, with the risk of repeating myself, if you don't need any of the ORD technology or ProjectWise integration, stay with SS2.
Works better and has fewer compatibility issues with 3rd party apps.
Search this forum, there were lengthy debates of how to make "bnlxinprunonce.exe" work with SS4.
Thanks for your reply. Sorry for these trivial questions as I'm new to MX.
I also wonder if the Benelux tool is able to run input codes line by line in SS4 just like how "MXinput" works SS2?
(The whole task is requested by my colleagues who are hoping to upgrade to SS4 so here I am)
Line by line is not possible, it runs whole input files. It is possible to run paragraphs. You need a text editor that supports external commands and macros. Basically you take a paragraph and run a macro on it. The macro writes the paragraph to a temp file and runs it via bnlxinprunonce.
