I am using OpenRoads Designer Connect edition and am attempting to create some plan-profile sheets. I used the named boundary tool to create plan and profile drawing models and then utilized "model annotation" to annotate the alignment and profile, however I then need to drag some labels around to remove conflict as well as edit some of the labels to remove part of the label that the client does not want on the sheets. It seems pretty random but the annotations will reset to the original position and contain all of the original information (undo my deletions). How can I stop this from happening?
I have tried setting the update fields automatically to false, however this caused my stationing on the alignment to start at 0+00, instead of the 50+00 that it is set to, and did not always keep it from happening.
I also tried dropping the cells several times so as to loose the smart features they contain, however several of the multi line annotations break down into unusable pieces.
Please help as this is incredibly frustrating.
Levi:
As long as you did not reannotate the model(s), the changes you have made should remain as you have changed them. If you need to make individual changes after you have edited/ changed them, you should use annotate element (which allows you to make changes on individual elements) rather than annotate model (which will reannotate the entire model). Do you happen to have automatic annotation turned on? That would explain why it reannotates constantly, if I understand your situation correctly.

I do not know what to say, other than the annotation randomly decides when or when not to reset itself when I switch between models, while only moving and editing annotation. I confirmed that I have update fields automatically set to false. It regularly does it if I leave and come back into the file.
How can I confirm that automatic annotation is turned off?
The command is found on the "Feature Definition Toggle Bar", and the command is "Auto Annotate" (the "A" with the curve below). I certainly have not experienced your issue in the way that I currently understand it. Hopefully- if turning off Auto Annotate does not help you- someone else who has experienced your issue will chime in here.
Hi Levi, which version of OpenRoads Designer do you have?
I am using 2020 release 2
