I working on setting up a workspace for PowerGEOPAK SS10 using my current SS4 workspace. I can't get it to read the .Xin file. When I try to create cross sections the preferences dialog box is empty and the save, save as, and delete are all greyed out. The variable CIVIL_XIN_FILE is pointing to the correct location. What else could be cause the preference to not be shown?
Thanks
There have been a number of threads here about "missing preferences", and there may even be a wiki article. Try searching again, with a few different phrase combinations.

In InRoads, if the xin file is opened read-only, those are greyed out. Not sure if that is what you are seeing, but InRoads has tools to show us who has it open and can toggle it from read only to read-write once it is no longer opened read-write by anyone else. In GEOPAK, it may be all controlled by the operating system.

You might want to try manually installing the Microsoft XML Parser. By default, this is no longer shipped with Windows 10 but it's required to read XIN files. We ran into this issue when we upgraded users to Windows 10 a while back.
