Hi
I am looking to display the existing terrain contours as grey and the proposed terrain contours as black in a drawing sheet. Is there any way to do this with a complex terrain composed of the proposed and existing terrains? If not, what is recommended workflow to displaying the final combined terrain in a drawing sheet with different contour colours for proposed and existing terrains?
Thanks
Jack

Hi Jack,
We can't do this in ORD, but maybe something for the Ideas forum (if anyone actually looks at it).
This is something available in other civil design software that would be great in ORD.

Thanks for the reply Mark, that is a pity ORD does not have that functionality. Sure I will place it on the ideas forum.
What I think would work is the following;
1. Create a clipped 'existing' terrain i.e. cut a hole in the existing where the proposed design is.
2. Create a new Terrain symbology for the clipped that draws in grey, and one that draws proposed in black.
Once the symbologies are created, they can be used in other projects then.
Jack - the current release version of OpenRoads Designer is 2020 Release 2 (10.08.01.33) - what are you actually running as you wrote v10.12.0.56?
I could see, if a complex terrain retained a link to the terrains that created it, it might be nice to have that portion of the terrain retain the display style (or whatever) of the original feature.

Thanks Mark, will give it a try hopefully the contours around the interface of the two terrains don't look like they have been cut and spliced.
I don't have an automatically updating license, so will be running the version when I bought it.
