I am trying to figure out how I can annotate a drawing for a site layout within OpenRoads designer connect edition.
I have been able to "Place Label" with a text favorite that will appropriately label northing, easting, and elevation of elements that are live in the file (not referenced in) using the following text favorite:
N = Linear Annotation.Point Y
E = Linear Annotation.Point X
El = Linear Annotation.Point Profile Projected Elevation
However the elevation does not label on any elements that are referenced in, it comes through as 0.00'. Is there a better way to be doing this?
Because I have a terrain from these elements I can delete out the elevation and label the terrain elevation using terrain -> "label terrain spot" but that doesn't make one nice label with all the information.
Otherwise I would have to put all of my labels in the design file??? seems to defeat the purpose of having design and sheet files separate.
Thanks for the help,
Levi
Levi:
Do you have the 2D or 3D model referenced? In order to get the elevations, the 3D must be the one referenced.

Mark,
After further investigation, I learned that I can label 3D referenced lines, but I have to place the label in the 3D model space, I cannot label them in the default space. In addition you were right, I have to have the 3D model referenced at which point the text favorite cannot use the "Linear Annotation.Point Profile Projected Elevation" field and instead use "Linear 3d Annotation.Point Z". Do you know of a way to label it within the Default model space? It would be nice to have all my labels in one spot.
I would like to do this also...
