Folks:
I have able to do some fairly consistent profile projections of inlet/ manhole SUDA nodes. However, some of the node projections come into the profile fine (manholes, in particular) while others (various inlets) seem to not have a correct projection; in particular, an inlet which is over 10' Lg. tangent to C/L which shows up as a bit over 4' wide in a profile cut/ run. How is SUDA looking at the nodes for what it considers to be their actual sizes for projection?

Mark,
Please provide screenshots and/or your data for us to reproduce the issue you are having.

Thank you, Holly.
Attached, you can see a simple drainage system layout, parallel to a particular centerline. The pipe lengths show up fine in the profile, but the structure widths do not. When applying the "Project Profile" tool, the projection lines do indeed represent the widths of the structures projecting to centerline, but you can see in the profile window that the widths are incorrect. Interestingly enough, the Engineering Profile shows the widths correctly.
The only structures which project consistently in my profiles are cylindrical manholes. As well, the issue seems to be random with larger structures showing up smaller than reality at times and smaller structures showing up larger than reality. But again, the issue is mostly random.
Thanks!
I have been unable to duplicate your results with my data set. If you send me your data, I can test with that.
Please try going to the Explorer > Drainage and Utilities Model > Profile Runs. Right click on the Profile Run that is displaying incorrect node sizes. Click Regenerate Profile Run. Does this help correct the display of the nodes?
There is a disconnect between hydraulic calculations and the physical model of the hydraulic system for structures. If you think about the cells that are used to model the structures; is the a cell for each box size? I haven't seen any workspace that has a correct box size for each structure. So while we have a 3d model, the level of detail of the model isn't very high. The calculated box size is not displayed graphically.

Well, I spent a great deal of time creating 2D and matching 3D models for all of our inlets, headwalls, and a custom Inlet Library and Conduit library to match these structures. I am still testing a few things before I send a file(s) to Holly, but there i literally no reason as to why these projections are not working correctly. As I am currently doing no hydraulic modeling for these structures, there would be no reason for the software to flip sizes based upon anything at all. All I am doing here is laying out some structures and projecting them upon a centerline profile; that is, any sizing is not relevant at this point.
Thanks for the input!
Holly:
I have done a regeneration of my profile run with the same results. Could you present to me an upload link such that you can analyze my drawing/ models? What information do you need from me? I am assuming just my dgn file?
You can upload your dgn here: https://bentley.sharefile.com/r-rbf5c3f0d22f499a8.
