I am a Surveyor and am trying to find a way to draw a line by using bearings and distances. In SS2 we had created a Macro that would allow us to do that. Is there a way in Open Road Designer to do something similar?
Using Horizontal Geometry, you can specify the distance and bearing. Type into the dialog, or use the Heads Up Display - use the left/right arrow to 'toggle' between distance and bearing in the HUD.
There is also a tool called the geometry builder and it has an edit modele too. And Civil Accudraw - a little complicated to learn but worth it in the long run.

There is also the ability to create points by bearing and distance using the Horizontal Geometry Points. Specifically the Locate Points tool.

You could also use the MicroStation "di=distance, bearing" key-in.
I'll jump on board....Learn the Geometry Builder tool. The workflow needing the least amount of learning curve would be the Geometry Line tool.
If your punching in deeds go with the Geometry Builder. You can save out the calls by exporting a LandXML file as well.
