Every day I hate this program more and more how wonderful of a relationship it's going to be, my latest issue is when trying to edit a coordinate system I don't have the option to edit I only get "COPY" or "ADD TO FAVORITES".

Another issue, there are certain points that cannot be deleted from my file. I have looked under the properties and it seems like the elements are locked. I have tried unlocking them and nothing. also when selecting the elements it says that no element has been selected even though it highlights the element as if it is selected.

Update on my issues with this software, now I have missing fields under Point Features.

I have tried right-clicking on the Point Features so that I can show and hide all the options but the link feature and other important fields are missing and won't show up.

Yes, RIP InRoads Survey SS2. I don't think the word is powerful enough compared to the way I am feeling right now. I haven't used ORD Extensively, but so far everything I have tried to use it for has been extremely disappointing. I hope things change the further into the design I get.

But how do you REALLY feel? Come on, don't hold back! ...and is it just ORD Survey, or does your hatred (what a powerful word) extend to the modeling too? ... because personally, I LOVED InRoads Survey SS2!!

Thanks, That is what I am doing right now but setting the right annotation group under feature symbology is a bear of a task when you have about 200 different codes, I have spent almost a day trying to get all my points to the right annotation group and it just seems extremely ineffective. I will continue to learn more because maybe (most likely) I am doing something wrong. I just don't understand why they would change that feature. I don't know how we had it set up in SS4 but it would annotate the incoming point like that too right after using the text import wizard.

The decorators are a screen display - I do not believe they are written to the file nor do they plot. There are settings in the User Preferences - View Options - Civil

To create labels that can be plotted, you need to use annotation tools. There are videos on setting up survey annotations - they are not trivial steps that could be covered in a post. There is also a VBA option, but this slows down processing significantly. This was the only option in Ss4.

Have you set up your point features to display the same as your SS2/SS4? ORD requires quite a bit of setup, and if that isn't right, things will not show the way you might expect.
