Good Afternoon Folks,
Has anyone converted their configuration from "MicroStation" & "InRoads" to "Power InRoads"? Any experience you're willing to share would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, and have a Great Labor Day Weekend,
We have found no real issues when using an identical workspace and files between the two platforms. In fact, at both private firms I worked for that did DOT work, we managed to use the same DOT workspace with InRoads on top of MicroStation that we used with Power Survey, Power Civil for North America (InRoads Power Civil), InRoads Survey and Power InRoads. I had setup a network workspace that used PCF files to switch between various DOT's and other clients in addition to all the different platforms.
I used to use a custom mslocal.cfg to redirect all of the different products to the common workspace, but now we add a new CFG file in the delivered workspace of each product, in the ...\Workspace\Standards folder as this can be updated or replaced without administrator rights.
We did not redirect and support files for these products, only to a common XIN, ITL and other data files. We also used a common network stored XML Reports folder where we started with the delivered reports and added custom reports and even custom folders if it seemed appropriate.
