What is Nested Attachment ? What is Live Nesting, Nesting Depth ? When it should be done ?
I have been using "Coincident World" as attachment Method all the time. How is Nested attachment different from Nested

RE: What is Nested Attachment ?

A Nested Attachment is when a design file, that has its own reference attachments, is used as a reference. The Nested Attachment's reference attachments are called nested references.

Live nesting is the setting to make sure the hierarchical structure of any nested references is maintained when attaching the Nested Attachment. This can be manipulated using the Nesting Depth.

The Nesting Depth sets the number of levels of nested references that are displayed. This allows you to manipulate the nested references if you want a certain reference displayed over another. Higher Nesting Depth numbers will be displayed over the lower numbers. If Nesting Depth is set to 0, only the selected model is attached to the master model; models referenced to the selected model are ignored. Not accessible when Nested Attachments is set to No Nesting

Much like PEvans mentioned, Coincident World is different from Live Nesting and deals with aligning the reference files with the established coordinate systems in the file (if there are any set).

You are in file A and attach file B as a reference file. If live nesting is on you will see file B and file C in your drawing.

If file C had file D attached as a reference and you set the nest depth to 2 you would see files B, C and D while in file A.

Coincident World attachment is a completely different thing than live nesting. Coincident World is a method of aligning the coordinate systems. Live nesting determines how many files are coming with the reference attachment.
