ProjectWise doesn't launch with Power InRoads even though I went through the steps for PW integration. I have checked the pw.cfg file, and it looks correct. I have also uninstalled/reinstalled both Power InRoads and ProjectWise. The only way to get to the ProjectWise files is from within the ProjectWise desktop application and not from within Power InRoads. MicroStation V8i icon has been modified to launch Power InRoads with our managed workspace. I am using ProjectWise Explorer Connect Edition Version 10.0.3.49.
Many DOT Workspaces disable the capability to launch ProjectWise from the CAD Platform but require users to launch ProjectWise and select and open files from there. This helps control any workspace used with the CAD Files. At my office, we are currently migrating all of our projects from using an unmanaged workspace via Workspace Profiles to a Managed Workspace. This is critical to our operation as we have a pre-Ss4 workspace standard and a post Ss4 workspace standard.
Eventually, we will have an ORD workspace standard, which will be an evolution of our Ss4 workspace standard, but we are not there yet.
The unmanaged workspace requires all users to have a copy of our workspace. A Managed Workspace is automatically delivered when a file is opened.
