I was once told never to modify elements in the 3D view of a ORD model. Does that include changing it's attributes and/or level directly in the 3D view? As I understand it, ORD should automatically create the 3D "profile" linework attributes in 3D based on the feature definitions element template. Our state CADD file QC requires these elements on a specific level. Are there any problems that could arise from changing those levels during the life of a project?
No, there should be no issues.
If you change the relevant dgnlib so that the Element Template(s) point to the correct level(s), you should be fine. You can 'Update from DGNLIB' to bring the changes to the current dgn file.
