I have 2ft contour lines from a DWG file that I brought into microstation (V8 2004/Geopak Roads). When I use extract graphics (contours), in some areas the TIN doesn't follow the contours very well. Is there something that I could do to make this look cleaner? For example: the purple circle is a high spot, and it connects to the adjacent contours of the same elevation. The green and blue circles just cut corners. I have little experience working with TINs and maybe I am trying to accomplish something that can't be done.
Thanks.
Hi Sidney.
Have you used the Generate Inferred Breaklines (Surface→Utilities→Generate Inferred Breaklines) before drawing the surface?
This should clean up the model a bit. Please see this guide: https://envisioncad.com/import-contours-from-graphics/

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for the reply, I think my version of microstation/geopak might be a bit outdated for the features you mentioned.I saw Road listed in the application drop down, but i guess it is not the same version you are referring to. The images I attached are what I see when I click on applications, then when I click on Geopak road->About.
Thanks again,
Sidney
