Hi,
I realised that all Microsoft products(even teams while making video conferencing) are listed in Nvidia's Activity Process Tool.
I am wondering if this is not filling up the graphic cards GPU. If No my question ends here, but if Yes ;
1 - I have 2 graphic card in my laptop(See details below). I am searching a way to move microsoft products(and others which should not use Nvidia like ProjectWise) from Nvidia and use Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630 for them. I want to dedicate Nvidia only to OpenRoads. Does someone have an idea on that ?
2 - I am also searching to know which "Predifined General Preferences" to use to make the best advantage of my graphique card for OpenRoads Designer software.
And does Bentley have suggestions/best practices to have the best profit of Nvidia graphic cards ?
Any additional configuration propositions to spped up the processing and visualitaion time will be wellcomed.
We are using Open Roads Designer Connect version 2019-R2 but will be moving to 2020-R3 soon.
Is there any changes between these 2 versions on this subjet ?
My Computer configuration is :
HP Zbook
Intel Core i7-9750 2.60Ghz
32 GB RAM
Graphique cards:
Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630
Nvidia Quadro T1000
Thanks.
Cem
These are some really great ideas and thanks for sharing!

Hi. Thanks for your replies.
Steven, I passed my NVIDIA Prefered Graphic Processeur to "Integrated Graphics" and this removed Microsoft and Teams from by NVIDIA Card. I forced Microstation and ORD to use NVIDIA and it works better.
But "Bentley Connect Client" and "Connect advisor" stayed on NVIDIA. I forced them to use Intergrated Graphic Card manually.
But they stay on NVIDIA. Maybe Bentley can tell us why we can not shift them to Integrated Card.
And I still have a question ;
Does "Global Presets" which can be selected on Manage 3D Settings window have an impact on ORD performance ? Why we don't have "Global Presets" for Bentley Softwares ?
Cem, a couple things to offer here presuming your hope is really to limit usage of the Nvidia card. On the Global Settings in the Nvidia Control panel is a "Preferred graphics processor", I would set this to the Intel integrated graphics. I don't think the Global presets are going to be applicable to your efforts.
I would then use the "Program Settings" to direct ORD and any other programs you want to the High-Performance processor. From there you could also look at customizing the individual settings for ORD, that is well beyond my knowledge as to how much affect that will have on performance.
Those are the items I have implemented and for the most part have been pretty happy with the performance in ORD for tasks that I suspect leverage the GPU, very clean movement when zooming or panning for example.
Hope that helps.

The only thing that I may add is to make sure that your ZBook has an SSD Hard Drive ( which I am sure that it does). Yes, there are schema changes to R3 which affect R2 files. I suggest that once you have upgraded to R3, go through all of your organizational dgn's and dgnlibs and upgrade them in order to make sure that they are all of the latest version. There have been some folder structure changes as well, and of course Bentley have changed the "_Civil Default Standards - Imperial.cfg" file to work accordingly. Compare the R3 configuration file to the R2 configuration file to notice structure changes. I always make sure that I change my settings/ structure to work with an unmodified configuration file because Bentley more than likely have good reasons for any changes.
