I am trying to work through what appears to be a bug in the Sheet Index. I set up the index with various folders so I could have series of sheet numbers such as C1.x, C2.x, etc. as shown in this screen shot.
This method works well for sheet numbering and I thought it would be a good way of tracking "sheet #" of "total sheets". The problem I'm having is that the sequence number of the models do not seem to be updating so the "sheet #" isn't updating correctly when I add or remove sheets. For instance, the sheet index shows sheet C3.1 to have a sequence number of "5". The "Place Sheet Index as Table" tool also shows a sequence number of "5" for the same sheet.
But the "Sheet #" on the actual page shows an incorrect sequence number of "3".
I did notice that even though the sheet index shows a sequence number of "5" the model properties show a sequence number of "3".
Is there a way to update the Model sequence number so it matches the sheet index sequence number?
I can't find the option to "Update Sheet Model Properties" when I right click. This is all I get:
Is there another way to get to "Update Model Properties" ?
This is the same observation that I had. I had to use MicroStation to get that option to appear in the Right-Click Menu.
Apparently that capability is available and functioning in plain Microstation (not ORD).
Robert Huston said:I had to do this in addition to my post above. In 20R2, I was unable to do this in ORD, but the option was available in MicroStation Update 13. So I built all of the fields and the Sheet Index in ORD, and then loaded up MicroStation to Update the Sheet Model Properties.
If you have access to one seat of plain Microstation, you should be able to use that to update the model properties.
If you don't, you may indeed have to do it manually.

Sorry I missed you post, unfortunately it seems that the workaround doesn't apply to ORD
Just curious if this has been corrected yet? We are just starting to implement ORD and do not have experience with the Sheet Index yet. Thanks, Michael
My firm has not got the sheet index to work correctly either. With ORD we have had to manually labeled page numbers for plan sets (some plan sets up to 250 pages). Apparently a functioning sheet index and stationing annotations is too much to ask for in a civil design program
I use a "named expression" and a "text substitution" via my pen table at print time to sort out the sheet numbering from my sheet index. Below is a screen shot of my named expression and the text substitution. The $SHEET_OF_SHEETS$ is what I place in my sheet seed dgnlib's. When you print from the sheet index you end up with " SHEET 1 of 15" etc. Note the end of the expression doesn't have the &... to close it out like the first one has... adding that doesn't work... must be a bug.... I add the named expression to my print styles.dgnlib.
