How can I set up MicroStation CE to use the same standards I have set up for ORD?
I created a /Organization-Civl/ directory on my server, and a sub-folder /PennDOT Design/, and that contains all of PennDOT standards.
I also have a PennDOT Design.cfg file in the /Organization-Civil/ directory.
I edited the ConfigurationSetup.cfg and WorkSpace.cfg on my C: to point to my server /Organization-Civil/
My ORD seems to work fine with this setup.
But I can not get Microsation CE to use the same files (.dgnlibs, etc) in the /Organization-Civil/ directory, without copying then entire folder into the /WorkSpaces/ directory (creating two copies of everything).
Also, if i open a .dgn with ORD and assign a workset to it, then i can no longer open the same .dgn with Microstation CE.
This Wiki article may help with some of this: https://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/w/road_and_site_design__wiki/50738/how-to-point-microstation-and-openroads-to-the-same-workspace-configuration
The workset thing may resolve when you have both MicroStation and ORD using the same configuration.

Thanks for your reply Mary!
that didnt work for me. The ORD workspace cfg file has a bunch of "_CIVIL_ORGANIZATION_STANDARDS" strings that Microstation CE cant read, the Microstation CE workspace cfg file uses "_USTN_WORKSPACESTANDARDS" strings.
and if i open a .dgn with ORD, assign a workspace and workset to it, then i can no longer open the same file with Microstation CE.
Do you use both ORD and Micstatation CE?
I'm still digging through the workspace setup myself, looking into how to relocate the bulk of our standards onto the network. If paths can be redirected to a network, I think they can be redirected to anything else.
I'm pretty sure I'm not going to like the workset "branding" out of the box...
Unfortunately, I'm only working with ORD right now. I imagine I'll have CE along the way. Hopefully someone further along in the process than I can give you hands-on advice.
