I am starting out to add items types to my objects in OpenRoads 2020 R1 update 8 10.08.00.88. I have had no problems creating libraries, adding them to the objects and exporting/importing the definitions. Every time I want to export out the instances I get the window 'OpenRoads Designer has stopped working' and nothing else has happened. I have tried by both selection being 'All' and also 'Current selection'. I have also tried to various directories on my machine, but due to firm set-up I cannot do it directly on to c drive, only under sub-directories. I don't know if the import function works as have nothing exported to try. Any help gratefully received to help me make this work. Thank you
Hello Jaki,
Did you get this issue on every file or any particular file ?
Can you please provide me your direct contact number so that I can reach you directly ? Or Can you please share your details so that I can create service request and reach out to you ?
Thank you,
Purva Lakde
Hi Purva, I reinstalled but now just have one file being affected and not sure why? I have attached the file in case someone is able to help why. I don't want to supply my direct number on this forum so it is visable for all Highway Pavement_ItemType.dgn
Thank you for sharing the file.
I have tested on latest version of OpenRoads Designer 10.09.00.91 and it is stopping my OpenRoads Designer.
I would like to know how you have created this object ? Have you imported from any other dgn/dwg file or created by MicroStation tool ?
Please elaborate in more detail.
Thank you have helping
The solid originally started as a terrain mesh which was thickened and converted into a smart solid. I have tried keeping it as a thicken mesh and it still keels over when trying to export out the instances. I have used the same process on another file which worked but it is smaller. The attached file was created in the same way and worksEarthworks_ItemTypes.dgn
I will check and get back to you on the same.
Thank you so much for your help. As mentioned I have no problems with the Earthwork file which was built using the same method, just the pavement file. Is there a data size issue that you know of?
