Locked Geometry Grayed out - cannot edit?

OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition 2020 Release 2 - 10.1.8.33

Hello, I am trying to edit a complex horizontal linear geometry feature (an edge of pavement). It appears as if I can edit it, but upon inspecting the properties, the element is locked, and there appears to be no way to unlock it because it is grayed out. Furthermore, I do not see the PV_P_Edge of Pavement feature shown in the Explorer (it is called "SW") even though it has the PV_P_Edge of Pavement feature definition. Any idea what could be happening?
