Is it possible to import a CSV file with point name, northing, easting, elevation, code, description. I am looking to have the description in a separate column from the field code.
Thanks Cliff!! That did the trick!!
I think your having a similar issue as Chris above. Check the project survey settings. I've clipped a few to show different results.
Scenario 1:
Scenario 2:
Processing raw data is a little different than importing ascii data. Hope that helps.
Cliff
Chris - Not sure you figured out the workflow. In the project settings use a separator character other than a comma. I clipped my project settings tab in SS10. Should be the same or similar in ORD.
The description is different than a note. As far as I know a note is a text attribute than can be copied into the description field upon import with an additional setting. Unless your collecting data in the field with attributes I would use the "-" to import points with descriptions. Below is a sample of an ascii file that uses the format I think your looking for.

These are bench marks here in Florida. I have some topo samples as well. As a digression if you want to handle attributes you may want to look into LandXML.
Sure, here's a snippet: (It's just a short traverse)

Hello Mark. Do you have a sample of the RW5 file you could provide?
