Converting GPK to ORD

I'm new to ORD and I'm trying to convert microstation files to ORD.  When I import a .gpk file with existing alignments, I go to set feature definition to the complex elements, the only option I have is "No Feature Definition".  Do you know why this may be??

Thanks,

Andrew F.

  • The standards are not necessarily stored or saved in the Seed File.  I am not sure how IDOT manages their workspace.  They could be storing the information in dgnlibs which are called up by a PW Managed Workspace, but that is not likely if you are not seeing the Feature Definitions.  You can see if you are in a workspace by going to File > Settings > Configuration > About Configuration to see if you are in a Managed Workspace.  Perhaps your project folders in ProjectWise are not associated to the workspace.

Taking this command out of the picture, out in OpenRoads Designer, go to the Explorer > OpenRoads Standards > Libraries and if you were in a workspace with stored Feature definitions, you would see information here under the libraries.

If information is stored in the DGN, you will see it here in the OpenRoads Standards as well, but under the DGN file name.  You will get an expansion option if you have Feature Definitions stored in the DGN.  So if you created a DGN from the IDOT Seed and there are no FDs here, then the seed file would not have the FDs in it.

Normal practice is for the Feature definitions to be stored in dgnlibs which are called up through the CIVIL_CONTENTMANAGEMENTDGNLIBLIST configuration variable in the workspace.  I think you will need to investigate more into how IDOT workspace is set up and how you access it when loading files through PW.
