Sometimes there is a need to modify a Plan Named Boundary. Perhaps you don't need to show part of the last sheet that lies beyond the project limits, or you need to modify

RE: [ORD 2020 R3] Modfiying Plan-View Named Boundaries
However, the resulting Drawing Model's reference files move and they are no longer at the correct coordinates.
I think that both Named Boundaries and Saved Views are both based on using the center of the View. So if the size of the view boundary changes, the view center changes and since the Reference attachment is using the view center as the insertion point, the Ref attachment will appear to move.

This problem was highlighted during the Mstn V8i SS3 beta almost a decade ago. It will probably take some effort to unfreeze the DV biniaries, make the changes, test and debug all those code modules that 'touch' DVs... hopefully someone left a back door open, or sumpthink.

Ideally, the SV and NB process should allow the user to define an anchor point that is independent to the view boundaries. One idea is to include an ACS with the SV. Something similar would be needed for the NB tool / workflow.

We wanted to capture more plan before the beginning of the alignment (essentially shift the first sheet to the left and the rest adjust automatically). The only solution we could come up with is extend the alignment and redo the sheets.

RE: [ORD 2020 R3] Modfiying Plan-View Named Boundaries

Hi Josh,

Have you tried to adjust the named boundaries in plan (in main view) by dragging the handles? You should be also able to move the named boundaries. Then in corresponding drawing model, in attachment dialog select the referenced model and put back x and y offset values to zero - this will ensure that coordinates in drawing model correctly match the design model. The clipping boundary should adjust automatically. If you change size of the named boundaries then you may also need to adjust location of the referenced drawing model in sheet.

Regards,
