OpenRoads - WorkSet Location

For obvious reasons, projects are stored on a different location for our company's server. Does the WorkSet have to be in the WorkSpace folder?? Can I move this to a different location for existing projects?

Thanks!

  • You can have the WorkSet wherever you want. When you create a WorkSet, by default it is created in <WorkSpace>\WorkSets' folder. The WorkSet '.cfg' and '.dgnws' files are also stored (by default) in the <WorkSpace>\WorkSets folder.

Does the WorkSet have to be in the WorkSpace folder? No. When you create the WorkSet, you can select the parent folder from anywhere.

Can I move this to a different location for existing projects? Existing WorkSets will have a line in the '.cfg' file telling where they were stored. For example, '_USTN_WORKSETROOT = C:/Bentley Training/$(_USTN_WORKSETNAME)/'. If you moved the project folder, you would need to amend the '.cfg' file to point to the new folder.

  • Hi Mark

Is it possible to be flexible with this when you set the project up without altering the workspacesetup file ?  i currently have specified a folder where my work sets are created , but always the same folder . What i would like to do without changing the workspacesetup file (so everyone in the company can have the same file) is be able to select on project creation where the my workset sits,(in the working project file, not lumped with all my other Bentley jobs)
