Hello All,
I'm trying to trim a gap in a horizontal civil geometry element between two other civil geometries. From everything I've read in the help and in various Communities posts, the "Trim Multiple" should still work with civil geometries. In my workflow, I activate the tool -> select the first vertical line -> select the other vertical line using CTRL -> click the the horizontal line between the two. I would expect this to make the line into two intervals separated by a gap, but I cannot get the tool to trim the gap. I tested the same procedure with microstation linework and the tool works as expected (see comparison between blue civil geometry and gray microstation lines below). Has anyone else ran into this issue? Is there another tool that can accomplish this? I would prefer to keep my civil geometry as a base geometry with intervals (in my case an edge-of-pavement line) rather than separate geometries.
Thanks
So I did find a workaround for my issue.
First activate the "Break Element" command from the Modify Toolbar. Then, break the civil geometry between the two vertical civil geometries. Lastly, use the "Trim to Element" tool on the two segments to achieve the desired result. The original geometry is intact with two intervals and a gap. Although this solution works, I would prefer the ease of the original "Trim Multiple" tool.

Hi Baylor,
The trim multiple tool doesn't work on Civil Geometry, although it probably should considering the other CAD trim tools do. I'd log a Service Request to make sure this gets addressed.

Thanks for confirming this, Mark. I submitted a Service Request to get the Trim Multiple tool upgraded for use with Civil Geometries.
