I have my survey points displayed in the "live" survey drawing showing Point Number, Elevation, Description, Notes.
Now I need to create graphics of these for every point in my drawing (and future drawings).
i have watched a video showing the creation of some graphics for one Control Point which appears to hard-wire the code, N, E, EL.
This is probably where I need to be going with this, but the example is for one control point and different pieces.
I am on Projectwise, and boot my drawing such that the state created "things" appear, sort of replicating the many "things" that were shown in the video.
There appears to be an Annotation Group Plan/Point/Survey/ "All Points Label" which sounds like a thing that might create labels for all the points?
There is also an Annotation Definition Plan/Point/ "Survey Topo Point Label" which sounds like a thing that might create labels for all the points?
Then I find an Element Template with Survey Features and a thing called "Survey Topo Label" which sounds like a thing that might create labels for all the points?
Then I find a Text Favorite called "Survey Topo Point Label" which looks like a hard-wired Code, N, E, EL for one specific point from some survey by the state.
So now that I'm totally confused by all these things, I'd like to be able to somehow get a graphic replica of the "Decorations" of my points (all the points) from my 'live" drawing.
Somehow it seems that Text Favorite needs to be generalized to write out the Point Number, Elevation, description, notes for any/all points imported to the drawing.
Seeing that the state has done some of the setup for this, I'd like to understand how all the "things" need to be (pointing to the next thing) but somehow get the pieces of the "decorations" applied as graphics.
Attached is a screen shot of the many "things" that maybe point to each other and maybe get close to this end, but I'm looking for labels for all the points, not just one "EOGRVL" point from some survey.
Is it even possible in ORD to get graphics for all points from a survey?
These are the "decorations", complete with notes, that I'd simply like to write to graphics.
I am having some similar issues. What happens when you click on Model Annotation under the drawing production tab? Also, I have noticed that If you are working with files that were set up for inroads you may be experiencing some issues without getting a warning. form what I see it looks like you have everything set up correctly so hitting the annotate model should work. let me know if you get any messages when doing so. Thanks
Also, what state are you working on? I am in Utah and it seems like not all points will be annotated as they used to, now only certain points will be annotated per their standards you might have a similar situation. my workaround, for now, is to process the linework in ORD and bring in the points in Inroads and then just copy the point name, code, elevation, notes text form there. It's really annoying. another thing is you can talk with someone at the state level and tell them ours was not fully set up and I spent hours trying to fix it then I called them and they told me it was their mistake and they fixed it and it worked so you might want to try that. Best of luck keep me updated I would like to get mine fixed too
Here is one thread with a link to a video that might be helpful: https://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/f/geopak-inroads-mx-openroads-forum/188380/how-can-i-see-survey-info-i-imported-into-open-site-designer-when-i-open-the-file-in-microstation
I've seen this come up a few times, but I haven't had the chance to dive into survey annotations myself. I do know that the decorators are transient elements, and that there is a different process to actually write them to graphics.

Hi Issac. I have not been on the forum for a bit. I am in Idaho and our standards are much weaker than yours in Utah. I have done some projects for ODOT and was very impressed at what they have set up, and how willing they are to help. We cannot get help in Idaho. There is no one to ask. I think you are correct about using model or element annotations, and it seems I will have to build all the pieces that ends with some Text Favorite thing that will create graphics for the points. It looks super convoluted and I dread diving into it. So for now I use my Custom Operations from the Style Manager in SS4 to create point graphics and copy these into my ORD drawing from the SS4 attachment as a reference file. I had high hopes ORD would improve upon survey point data, and maybe steal ideas from AutoCAD, but it seems further behind now. It seems like a program built for engineering design, and surveying is an after thought. Thanks for responding.
