OR SS10 - Report or List Features in Dgn Library?

Hello,

Looking to get a list or report of all the civil features in a dgn library.
I tried the suggested method of opening the file in ORD 2020 R3, but the file opens read only.
I did set the config variable for civil importexport, but still get the read only message.
Any other options? I want to inventory all the (few hundred) features in the dgllib and don't want to do this manually.ORD_ElementTemplates.dgnlib

Thanks,

Tom F.

  • Have you downloaded the Migration Tools, this includes the extra token that enables feature definition export to XML. And a convertor to xls

  • I have, thanks, Chris. The migration tools seem to want either an XIN or an XML and I don't have either of those, I have a .dgnlib.
That's where I figured I could try ORD, but there I run into the read only problem.

  • Within the migration tools fo feature definition import export is a readme, it tells you to copy a file into the program files of ORD to enable import export. This will allow you to export the FDs to xml

  • There might be a variable that needs to be set for ORD to convert an SS10 DGNLIB to ORD. Also, is there a chance you DGNLIB's are not actually in Ss10 format? I believe any Ss2 or Ss3 FD's need to be upgraded to Ss4/10 before ORD can read them.

The migration tools expect an Ss4 or Ss10 DGNLIB to be opened in ORD to upgrade the FD's to ORD before any other steps are followed. You can export levels to csv and Element Templates to XML from Ss2, 3, 4 or 10, but most everything else occurs in ORD.

We had to retrofit our Ss2 workspace to Ss10 in a hurry, and I used this technique to figure out any level names that were not correctly defined and to even convert other DGNLIB's from one level naming convention to ours. So I do know that this does work.
