Hello,
I am attempting to work through the "OpenRoads Designer - Drainage & Utilities - Fundamentals" learning path. In a video, specifically the "Exploring Drainage and Utilities Tools" video under the "Navigating Drainage and Utilities" training module, the instructor uses the "Drainage and Utilities" workflow while operating in OpenSite Designer. Unfortunately, I cannot find this workflow in OpenRoads. It is not included in the workflow dropdown list. Is this workflow only available with Opensite Designer and not OpenRoads? If so, I do not have access to OpenSite designer with my company and would be unable to complete the training or even use any of the functions included in the workflow in my design work. I cannot find any information on where I can find/install this workflow.
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks
I do have the "Subsurface Utilities" workflow but it looks a little different than the original "Drainage and Utilities". Probably not all that important if I can still search for the functions I need.
Thanks for the reply.
Good point, Mary. Still, I would defend the division of the available commands (and there are a lot of them) into logical configurations of the ribbon, which makes work easier for a particular phase of the project.
Also, note that using the search field will produce results from all of the workflows, irrespective of which one is currently loaded.
Bentley introduced that "alternate" usage of workflow as a collection of tools visible under only certain conditions with your introduction of a ribbon. We are using YOUR terminology to describe the convoluted process of figuring out which WORKFLOW we need to have activated through the "quick access" (HAH!) toolbar to find the tools we are looking for. Since we no longer have "quick access" to ALL the tools through a single interface we need to know the proper WORKFLOW to find everything.
Bentley set it up this way, and that is the word YOUR COMPANY uses for the way your interface is set up. You got confused? imagine how we feel?!

it is also possible to build your own workflows in a DGNLIB you make part of your workspace configuration. There are some nuances to the process that I have not found a detailed resource that covers all of them. You really want to copy ribbon pieces from other workflows into yours so that if you want to remove part of the copy, it does not remove it from the original workflows. Been there, done that.

Ok, it seems we've misunderstood your use of the term "workflow", which is often used in its original meaning of going through a set of commands to achieve something.
The name "Drainage and Utilities" has been introduced in the 2020 Release 1 version, previously it was known as "Subsurface utilities". Do you have the "Subsurface utilities" workflow available in the dropdown in the Quick Access Toolbar in the left upper corner?
