Annotate Corridor Features

I need to annotate features for drawing production.

Process followed:

1. Referenced in the 2D corridor elements into new file.

2. Made sure the features that need to annotate is correctly configured.

3. Selected element to be annotated

4. Nothing happens.

5. tried to see if I need to annotate 3D elements with same result.

As you have referenced your dgns into a new file the command will not work. It actually should prompt the user read only reference.... so an enhancement is required here...

You will need to go into each file and annotate each element.

That screen shot looks like MX to me!

Ross I followed your proposal and it worked. The problem is tat it is not picking u the correct annotation group from my dgnlib file. It seems like its also reading a similar group somewhere ells. Followed sequence to update Annotation Groups.

    1. Opened dgnlib file and make changes to tick marks and labels (making big change to see if this is pulling through to design file, large ticks and large annotation)

     2. Open Corridor file and  Delete all traces of previous attempts to annotate in design file. Manually delete annotation groups and Annotation symbiology.

    3. Open itl file, Process Corridor and synchronize templates

    4. Update element templates from dgnlib (this takes 3 -5 min to process)

    5. Update Feature definitions from dgnlib files.

    6. Anno Design file Disappointed

    7. Try again

    Yes I tried this also.

Yes I think you are correct, This is the example given to me.

  • Yes I see the same issue will only annotate alignment data not corridor data...  It might be the slot order of the reference files but I have never had time to check.

Yes sounds like it is picking up an old annotation setting somewhere along the way.

Try the following to isolate it. Change the name of your annotation group that you want to adjust. eg apply the prefix "new" to each one. Then try again ie remove annotation and then reannotate to the new annotation group name. I have seen sometimes that when you have removed what you think is all the data...  some things still remain... That was in an earlier version than what I currently use so hopefully the update from the DGNLIB should have fixed all this... What version are you on I am on update 9 release 3 2020.

  • Hey Ross,

If I recall correctly the Civil dgnlib sync will not remove any Annotation Definitions in the Annotation Group that have been removed, just add missing ones (a defect i havent gotten around to reporting yet).

In addition to Ross' suggestions above, also try deleting your Annotation Definitions and see if that works.
