Civil Plan By Element Sheet Seed rotated

Hi

I'm trying to create sheet seed file for plan creation in which the user picks predefined sheet layout shapes  to create drawing and sheet models based on those Named Boundaries.

For that I am using Create Named Boundary tool with By Element option. In result I am getting is rotated by -90 degrees the "drawing detail" thingy  object in relation to the sheet layout.

I am not even sure if this is the correct workflow and toolset for the task.

Here is the result. Of course when I try to cut sheets from that sheet seed the drawing is also rotated in the sheet model. The drawing model view is rotated by -90 deg.

  • Benedykt - in a 'normal' case, the Named Boundary is fitted to the sheet as it was defined in relation to the sheet. The predefined layouts do not have that relationship. You can use the Reference dialog to move/rotate the drawing model to the sheet manually - not ideal, but a solution.

  • Unfortunately, this then breaks the Civil Labeler functionality. You cannot adjust references in the drawing model space and keep this intact. Just putting this here for future browsers since the only way we've found is to rotate your VIEW in the drawing model and then rotate your drawing reference in your Sheet model. This then defeated the purpose of sheet seeds though.... I'd be curious if Bentley has a solution or if this was just an oversight in how the tool operates. We settled on drawing working lines/alignments and then sticking with the standard plan boundary tool.

EDIT: Which I realize may not have been a feature in 2021 Slight smile
