Yes D&U attributes can be exported to a shapefile using Flextables. Refer attached photo - hit the export button and the export dialog panel has an option to save as a shapefile.

The benefit of going through a Flextable is you can select which attributes are outputted and control their formatting as well.

If the coffee corner on 15 March is to be believed, SHP export is coming to ORD in the next release!

Hi Lisa, that was an error - i meant "top left". All you need to do is use Asset Manager to apply any type of data to your elements and then you can use this tool to export to SHP files. A bit convoluted, but a much better and simple export option is coming in the next release apparently very soon.

can you elaborate on this? i tried to google how to do this and it didn't show any results. what "buttons on the top right" are you talking about?>

Hi Aaron, you will need to create an Asset Manager scheme (using the buttons on the top right) and then it will enable that option.

I've tried with ORD 10.10.21.004 and the "Export to Shapefile" option is still greyed out. Hopefully the option is coming soon.

We export to Google Earth and then use that to convert to a shapefile.

His company has a product called MicroStation FDO. It imports shapefiles (among other GIS data types) into MicroStation

This is the only solution I have found. I had to import the linework from ORD into V8i drawing in-order to get things to work.

The only solution at present is to use OpenCities Map.

If you go back to InRoads/GEOPAK V8i, Bentley Map is included with those products that allows for exporting to a shapefile.
